Symphysis Pubis

Symphysis pubis dysfunction refers to a non-stable and painful pubic joint. The 2 bones coming from left and right meet in the middle. Usually ligaments will keep them aligned and strong, but sometimes the ligaments lose their strength and become crooked and/ or too far apart, making simple motions like lifting the leg, walking, putting weight on the leg, and turning in bed both difficult and painful.

This problem occurs most frequently during pregnancy because ligaments become looser in the pelvis to widen the pelvis for pregnancy and delivery. Treatment involves learning how to use your core muscles to stabilize the joint, balancing the length and strength of all the muscles that attach to your pelvis, and using special techniques or equipment to decrease the strain.

Almost always, a person can get full resolution of the symptoms. I can give you the tools to get aligned and stronger and more functional faster.
